The saints did not become saints by reading the writings of other saints but by the study of the Sacred Scriptures! The writings of St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas may contain errors, but the Sacred Scriptures are infallible in every detail and the only source of doctrine that is absolutely certain.
” All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that one who belongs to God may be competent, equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17
We invite families to make the daily reading of the Scripture a priority. Our Scripture reading schedule provides a plan to read through the Scriptures, following the Church calendar, one day at a time. Click on the image to the right to view, download and/or print our Scripture Reading Schedule.
Need a Bible?
The Catholic Church has approved a number of different Bible translations, but the most popular today are the Douay-Rheims Bible and the New American Bible. Both of these are available online and in print.
